How to mod your Sennheiser HD 555 audiophile headphones

I recently came across a great video on how to modify your Sennheiser HD 555 headphones. With this modification, you can change your existing HD555's into Sennheiser 595 Premier Headphones for free. That's right, you can save yourself a few hundred bucks and make yourself a FREE pair of HD-595 headphones.
After watching the video, I found this to be an extremely simple but effective way to modify your 555's into 595's. This isn't some high-tech complicated procedure only for the extreme audiophile. This is so easy a complete newbie without any technical background can pull off.

That is a great mod. I'm not sure if it works as I have nothing to compare it to. My HD555's came already modded with the foam removed. http://peterhallam.com.au/sennheiser-hd555-audioph
They are great headphones. But once I got them I noticed the deficiencies in my on board motherboard sound so had to splurge out on a Xonar DX http://peterhallam.com.au/sennheiser-hd555-audioph
The Xonar DX really does the HD555's justice. Sounds fantastic compared to my previous Logitech headset and on board sound.
